Indoor Play Spaces Northern NJ

If you’re like me, you often run out of ideas for activities for you kids, especially on really hot, cold, or rainy days. I’ve compiled a list of indoor play spaces in northern NJ which are great for all seasons! Places like these allow kids to explore safely while you get a little break 🙂

My Favorite Northern NJ Indoor Play Spaces

1. HuckleBerry Play

$25 for 1 child & 1 adult

Open 7 days a week, this large indoor play space offers activities for toddlers through 8th grade. They have soft play, imaginative play, and gross motor play areas so your kids constantly have something to explore! We took my daughter here for her 2nd birthday and she had a blast! She especially loved climbing, going down the slides, and the gigantic colorful ball pit. HuckleBerry Play also offers spaces for parties and events along with summer camps.

2. Neverland Fun

450 Springfield Ave.
Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922
Reservations required for a 1.5 hour time slot
$25 for 1 child

Open Thursday-Monday, this smaller indoor play space is best for kids 6 and under. Focusing on imaginative play in a town consisting of a police station, grocery store, airport, and animal hospital. Your kids imaginations run wild with so much to explore. My 3.5 year old daughter really loved the animal hospital! Neverland Fun also offers private parties and summer camps. Since reservations are required, there’s the guarantee that it’s never overcrowded, and always clean and tidy for your visit.

3. Exceptional Explorers

Open Monday-Sunday for open play, this indoor play space also offers a variety of classes and birthday party options. Exceptional Explorers say there is fun for all ages focusing on what it means to be a global citizen, where they highlight other countries in the travel themed space. You’re also able to host your child’s birthday party here!

4. Imagine That

4 Vreeland Rd.

$22 for kids, $7 for adults

Open Tuesday-Sunday, this indoor play space is best for pre-school aged children to school aged children. Imagine That is a large open floor plan facility, with many areas to explore. They have a learning through play model where kids can touch, discover, and learn in a variety of different areas such as arts and crafts, a grocery store, music area, and jungle gym to name a few. Offering birthday parties, field trips, and special events! My daughter loved painting here and playing vet with me! It was very cute to watch her explore it all!

5. Small Town Play Cafe

278 North Avenue East
Westfield, NJ 07090
Reservations required for two hours of open play
$26 for 1 child

Open 7 days a week, this indoor play space is best for children 6 and under. With a limited capacity, reservations are required for this part play space/part cafe, offering a variety of different coffee drinks and food options. Small Town Play Cafe was designed with children and adults in mind, with their goal to create a space that both kids and their parents/caregivers wanted to spend time in.  Parties, classes, and events, are available as well!
