This in-home newborn session took place in Madison, NJ, where I photographed Madeline’s first days with her family. I specialize in relaxed, in-home New Jersey newborn photography, serving families throughout Northern and Central New Jersey.

While I don’t have a studio, my style for solo portraits of your baby mimics a simple studio setup. I bring a white backdrop and photograph babies just as they are, using simple, natural positions that focus on their tiny details. I also bring neutral swaddles, blankets, and small bows.

For Madeline’s session, her parents chose a light pink swaddle and a white bow. I typically begin with solo portraits while baby is swaddled, then slowly unwrap them to photograph little details like their hands and feet. Newborns are usually happiest and easiest to photograph when they’re sleepy, so I take my time and follow their cues throughout the session.

After the solo portraits, I photographed Madeline with her parents around their home, documenting those first moments together as a new family.
