A Calm, Natural Approach to Newborn Photography

A wonderful benefit of having an in home newborn session is the familiarity and comfort for both yourself and your baby. I bring everything needed to photograph your baby–swaddles, blankets, a newborn lounger, sound machine–and set up in a space with the best natural light.

You don’t need to travel, pack a diaper bag, or change your comfortable environment. I follow their cues when it comes to feeding, and changing, and make sure the session is relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.

Your Baby’s Safety and Comfort Come First

Even in a home setting, safety is my top priority. I arrive at your house and set up my gear and then always make sure to wash my hands before holding your baby. I work slowly ensuring they are happy and not in any strange positions that they’re not happy with. My sessions are mostly baby-led with minimal props (just blankets, pillows, swaddles), in order to create my timeless images that you see in my portfolio.

During the session, if your baby is ever fussy, or needing a diaper change, I always suggest we stop and make sure they are comfortable. I never rush, or work quickly.

Including Parents And Siblings in Your Newborn Session

My newborn sessions always include parents and siblings in order to document these first moments as a new family. I will typically start with family photos before capturing solo portraits of your baby. Toddlers are generally ready to go when I arrive and are hopefully excited to start the session. I have tips and tricks on how to approach siblings depending on their age 🙂

What to Expect During Your In-Home Newborn Photography Session

Your in-home newborn photography session lasts approximately 1.5–2 hours, allowing plenty of time for:
• Feeding
• Diaper changes
• Soothing

There is no rush and no pressure. Your baby leads the session, ensuring a calm, comfortable experience for everyone.

Your gallery allows you to design meaningful artwork that can be displayed and enjoyed in your home for generations. Most families invest between $1,200–$2,500 in their final artwork and digital collections.
